I'm building an chevy engine for a '72 IH Scout. I'm running 10:1 compression ratio on a 350 bored over .030. I've got vortec heads on it and I'll be running a TPI from an '87 IROC 5.7. I'm looking for a cam that will give me that low end torque, decent fuel economy and won't be a problem with the TPI. Any suggestions?

Re: Cam recommendation
Thu, June 17, 2004 - 6:45 PMone thing to check out would be the desktop dyno it is a comp program that does the hard work for you. is your engine a 350 chevy motor is so check out edelbrock cams as well they have theres listed by what you want performer/ performer rpm / torker II etc... since you want low end torque you want a cam that has the power at the lower rpm band which the performer set up will work. I have a book from edelbrok so if you have questions let me know

Re: Cam recommendation
Fri, June 18, 2004 - 6:54 PMGreat! Thanks Alex. I'm liking the comp cams xe256h but my project is on hold for probably a couple months. Still have to be sure the cam I select is computer controlled friendly.
